GastroPlannerRestaurant booking system

Kim books tables in your GastroPlanner.

Right party size, right sitting, right room. Kim asks GastroPlanner what can be booked and takes only what can.

What actually happens

Availability comes back per room, filtered by party size. A time that comes back is bookable for that party, not merely open in general. The difference shows on a table for seven on a Friday.

GastroPlanner rejects a booking that no longer fits. That means there is no gap between checking and writing where the same table can go twice, which is the most common source of double bookings in this kind of connection.

The booking is written with the guest's name, phone, party size and the sitting length you have configured. Book through your own online booking and the time leaves Kim's list immediately.

LIMITS

What Kim will not do here

We spell this out because it is cheaper for everyone to know up front than to find out with a guest on the phone.

  • Kim picks room and sitting according to your settings, not table by table. The floor plan stays yours.
  • Pre-ordered food, menus and prepayment sit outside the connection. Kim takes the table.
  • Parties above the limit you set are handed to staff rather than booked. Large tables are rarely just a number of chairs.

QUESTIONS

About this connection

Can Kim book a table for twelve?

Only if GastroPlanner answers that there is room for twelve and you have not set a lower threshold for handing over. Most restaurants want to speak to large parties themselves.

What happens when the restaurant is full?

Kim says the time is full and offers the times that are genuinely free, fetched during the same call. No waiting list nobody reads.

Do staff see the booking straight away?

Yes, it sits in GastroPlanner like any other booking. You do not have to open VOCA to run service.
